Welcome to The Speech & Stuttering Institute (SSI) Training Hub, an online community of Speech-Language Pathologists and Communicative Disorders Assistants providing service in one of Ontario’s Preschool Speech and Language (PSL) programs or School Based Rehabilitation Services (SBRS).
By accessing this website at www.ssitraininghub.ca and indicating acceptance of these Terms on your membership form, you signify that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use for the website and services connected with it. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing the website.
Please read these Terms of Use carefully as they contain important information regarding your legal rights, remedies and obligations, including various limitations and exclusions.
These Terms of Use apply to all registered members of the SSI Training Hub.
2. Use License
Permission is granted to download the materials made available on the website for use with clients and families receiving service through a PSL/SBRS program. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may NOT:
- use the materials for any commercial purpose, or for any public display (commercial or non-commercial);
- remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials; or
- give or sell the materials to another person.
You may adapt the materials for your own personal use, provided that you cite The Speech & Stuttering Institute as the original author of the materials.
This means that you may download, print and copy forms, handouts, therapy materials, and so on to use with your individual clients. You may download and modify the materials (for example, adding your own name and credentials to the signature area of a report form), as long as your document cites The Speech & Stuttering Institute as the original author.
This license shall automatically terminate if you violate any of these restrictions and may be terminated by SSI’s Training Hub at any time.
3. Discussion Forums
The SSI Training Hub includes discussion forums to facilitate enjoyable and productive communication between members. Registered members of the website may submit and view comments to the forum.
Moderation
Moderation of members’ comments is the responsibility of the website’s owners and facilitators. The owners and facilitators are expected to:
- monitor comments to ensure that the norms and practices for respectful and professional dialogue and interaction are followed by all registered users; and
- monitor comments to ensure that all comments comply with these Terms of Use.
Reporting Inappropriate Posts
Please report any posts that are inappropriate by using the “Report” option found in the menu on the top right of each post.
Inappropriate comments include but are not limited to those that are abusive, offensive, defamatory, off-topic, that infringe upon copyright or others’ privacy, that promote a member’s product, service or business, or that are disrespectful. The SSI Training Hub welcomes your comments as long as they are appropriate. Comments that are inappropriate will be removed from the website.
SSI does not warranty the accuracy of information or opinions provided by individual members’ posts or comments.
Searching for posts
You can search for a post by using the search box at the top of any individual forum or on the forum main page. It may be helpful to see if your topic or question has already been covered before posting. If so, you can reply to that thread, rather than start a new one. You can also click on someone’s name in the forums (including your own) to see all of the posts that have been made by that person.
Upvoting posts
When you view any post, you will see an “upvote” button (thumbs up symbol) under each post. Click the button to draw attention to thoughtful, interesting, or helpful posts.
Following
If you find a particular thread to be interesting to you, click the “subscribe for new replies” button at the top of that thread page to receive email notifications when new posts are made.
4. Disclaimer
The materials on the website are provided on an ‘as is’ basis. SSI makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights.
Further, SSI does not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials on its website or otherwise relating to such materials or on any sites linked to this site.
5. Limitations
In no event shall SSI or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on the website, even if The Speech & Stuttering Institute or an SSI Training Hub representative has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage. Because some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties, or limitations of liability for consequential or incidental damages, these limitations may not apply to you.
6. Accuracy of materials
The materials appearing on the website could include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. SSI does not warrant that any of the materials on its website are accurate, complete or current. SSI may make changes to the materials contained on its website at any time without notice. However, SSI does not make any commitment to update the materials.

The SSI Training Hub has not reviewed all of the sites linked to its website and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked site. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by The Speech & Stuttering Institute of the site. Use of any such linked website is at the user’s own risk.
8. Modifications
The SSI Training Hub may revise these terms of service for its website at any time without notice. By using this website you are agreeing to be bound by the then current version of these terms of service.
9. Limitation of Liability
The Speech & Stuttering Institute accepts no liability or blame for injury, damage or loss to any person or property caused by or in any way related to the use of the website, its information or any website linked to it.
10. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Canada.
